Listed below are questions that can help you decide your data and voice needs.


As you read through the questions, consider your total technology needs including your data network and your wide area network.

Q) What is a SIP phone?
A) Session Initiation Protocol. With today's technology phones have changed a lot and now the basic business type phone operates over the data network.


Q) Why would I need a SIP phone?
A) If you are looking to expand your current phone system, you could save money on cabling and the cost of the phone. SIP phones also give you a long arm to place a phone at home and have it work as if you were at the office.


Q) What else can SIP do for me?
A) SIP can also be used as the phone line / trunks from the phone company. Using SIP trunks allows you to connect to the phone company via the internet or a private WAN network at a reduced cost. You can also connect locations together using SIP and which allows for 3 or 4 digit dialing to other offices.


Q) Does ADTRAN's phone system offer the typical phone system features such as music on hold, overhead paging, 3 or 4 digit dialing, etc...
A) The ADTRAN NetVanta 7000 series and the Unified Communications have all of the main phone system features like centralized voice mail, auto attendant, music on hold, multi-line phones, single-line phones, and many, many more features. To find out more click here.

Q) Have you considered opening up to WiFi in your office?
A) TAD and Adtran have plenty of choices; NetVanta 1335 and the NetVanta 150


Q) Do you need more bandwidth?
A) Take a look at the ADTRAN NetVanta 3300 series (this provides up to 3 T1's),
ADTRAN NetVanta 4430 (provides up to 8 T1's and 100 meg of carrier Ethernet)
